Artist Talk: Lena Andrade

Sunday, April 72:00—3:00 PMMeeting RoomNorwell Public Library64 South Street, Norwell, MA, 02061

Lena Andrade is Cape Verdean, Cape Verde American, American, and a sort of world traveler. She is a Brockton artist; and a Brockton High School graduate. Alumni. She went to Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island.

Andrade possesses a selective eye towards the democratic untidiness of the world. What she gets out of it, she calls art. Not capitalized Art but 21st century art, a temperature that goes all out. Creativity doesn't have to check itself as much or pretend anymore anonymity. We all have the potential of becoming artists of some kind. Lena’s eyes are effortless examples of that sentiment.

Lena has had several exhibits in Massachusetts. A major project will be dealing with the homeless in Brockton. The Art of the homeless universe at the Joseph A. Driscoll Gallery at the Brockton Public Library.

CABO VERDE and EVERYDAY LIFE exhibit the quotient and resilience of the Cape Verdean people.
