The North River is the first Scenic Protected River in Massachusetts and the North and South Rivers were designated a National Natural Landmark by the National Park Service.
This presentation is an overview of the natural events that lead to what the Rivers are today. It includes a brief history of the shipbuilding industry from the mid 1600’s to the mid 1800’s. This presentation is put on by the North and South Rivers Watershed Association.
