Unlikely Friends: Tales from Refugee Campuses on Lesvos

Wednesday, May 86:30—7:30 PMMeeting RoomNorwell Public Library64 South Street, Norwell, MA, 02061

Please join Kathy Berry, a self-proclaimed humanitarian, at the Norwell Public Library for her presentation, “Unlikely Friends: Tales from Refugee Campuses on Lesvos.” Treating herself to her first trip to Greece in 2017, she explored the country for a couple of weeks; then spent three weeks volunteering at a Refugee Campus on the island of Lesvos. Kathy found profound fulfillment and life perspective during her time at the Refugee Campus. Over the next several years, she kept returning to Greece to continue her volunteer efforts. Her last trip was cut short due to the world shutting down from Covid-19 in March 2020.

Having grown up in Milton, Kathy Berry left home after college in order to spread her wings and explore the world before coming home to raise her daughters in the bosom of her boisterous family. With her ladies grown and spread across the US; Kathy fulfilled a lifelong dream by moving to New York City and continuing her exploration of our world. Her most profound experiences were discovered volunteering on a Refugee CampUs on Lesvos Greece. Kathy came back to the Milton area to be near family when our world shut down with COVID-19 in 2020.
