Session 1: What is the Mind-body Connection
Learn the history and evolution of the science behind the recognition of the mind-body
connection and how it relates to modern-day life and developing resilience. Understand
the mechanisms within your body that operate to produce stress and its opposite,
relaxation and why both are important.
Series Summary
Each of the 3 sessions in this series covers a topic related to understanding the
mind-body connection and how to leverage that understanding to develop your own
personal resilience to help you live with grace and ease. You will learn how the science of
the mind-body connection has evolved and how to apply it to managing your daily life.
The sessions are designed to provide knowledge as well as useful tips and practices that
can be implemented right away. Each session includes practices such as
mini-meditations, mindfulness practices, and/or seated gentle yoga and breathing
practices that can be done anytime.
You can participate in one, two, or all three and gain usable insights.
Instructor Bio:
Paula McCree
I am a Certified PART Instructor through the Mass General, Benson Henry Mindbody Institute with
additional training in mindfulness practices via the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program
designed by Jon Kabot Zinn. In addition, I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance and
recently Certified Life and Success Coach through the Jay Shetty Coaching Certification School.
In service to my future self, I have been on a personal mission to be sure that I do everything I can today
to lead a mentally, emotionally, and physically healthy and fulfilling life today. The well-being and
resilience practices I offer through 1:1 coaching, workshops, and yoga programs are designed to help
participants discover what works for them to lead their best life in service to their future self while
navigating and managing all the changes that come with that with grace and ease.
