Introduction to Permaculture: Shifting From Consumer to Producer

Monday, November 76:30—7:45 PMMeeting RoomNorwell Public Library64 South Street, Norwell, MA, 02061

This presentation will introduce guests to the history, ethics, principles, and design process of Permaculture; the intentional design of food systems and social structures to provide for human needs while restoring the health of our ecosystem. By observing key ecological relationships and patterns, we can mimic and apply these concepts to our landscapes, homes and communities to create a regenerative and beneficial lifestyle and environment for all!
Todd Breitenstein and Jessica Mandelbaum are co-founders of South Shore Permaculture, an educational organization focused on spreading the message of Permaculture. They also run Our Grateful Garden, a non-profit whose mission it is to support the local recovery community through nature-based opportunities.
Todd has been teaching sustainable and organic gardening for over a decade. While his passion for observing and learning from natural systems is infectious, his greatest gift is his ability to share his infinite joy and wisdom in a casual and fun way that puts both beginners and experts at ease.
Jessica is a Permaculture enthusiast, professional chef, novice homesteader and certified yoga teacher. She received her Permaculture Design Certification in 2022 but has been active in the agricultural and regenerative space for over 15 years. She’s passionate about sharing delicious, nutrient dense food, and empowering her community through education.
